Poetry & Things

Welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy the poetry!

A Little About the Site

My goal here is simple: to share my poetry and practice building websites. I plan to update the site as often as I can. As of now, I have most of my poems uploaded and sorted. I'm currently working on a blog page. I think I want to make it somewhere that I can vent about shit and upload pictures of my many misadventures and craft beer fueled experiences.

I've built a "contact" page so bots can spam my inbox with links to porn and whatnot. In all seriousness though, it would be fun to hear from anyone who stumbles onto the site and takes a few moments to read a poem or two. So please, if you see something that you really like, let me know! I'll try to respond to any feedback.

Finally, I just thought it would be fun to have somewhere to keep all of my poems nice and organized. I've spent a lot of time and energy writing some of these, and they all mean a lot to me. I hope that you can find something here that means something to you as well.

A Little About the Poems

When I first started writing poetry, it was really just a way for me to say things that I couldn't bring myself to say out loud. It was therapeutic. The more I wrote, and the more I shared what I was writing, the more I felt like I was finally good at something. Everyone seemed to always have such nice things to say about the poems that I had written. Even the incredibly sad and personal ones.

For the longest time, I only wrote poems when I was sad or upset. So when things were going okay in my life I didn't write as much. But that seems to have changed recently. I feel like I am finally somewhere in life where I can write about anything that's on my mind. The poems I have here, I think, showcase the different sides of me.

As I mentioned, I am working on a blog page. I was given the idea to use that blog page to maybe talk a little about how I write my poems, such as the methods I use. However, it also occurred to me that I could use that space to breakdown some of the poems that I have written, and give you guys a peek behind the mindset I was in when they were written. If this is something that any of you would like to see, shoot me an email here and let me know!
