Poetry & Things

I started writing poetry as a teenager. I can't remember now what got me interested in it, but I'm thankful for whatever it was. I didn't have a lot of friends, any friends really, but writing made me feel like that didn't matter. Eventually, I began to share my poetry with stangers in poetry chatrooms that I found online. I entered a few of my poems in online contests. I never won anything, but it made me feel proud to have my words out there. I knew that somewhere, someone must feel the same way that I did, and that person needed to know that they weren't alone.

A couple of years ago I became interested in web development and started going to school to learn more about it. I've had the idea to build a website where I could post my poetry since the very begining, and I'm glad that I have finally found the motivation to do it. I hope you enjoy what you find here!

A few random facts about me, because this will be fun! I drink way more coffee than anyone should. I never wear matching socks. Most of my tee shirts are black, and I like that it's that way. My beard is definitely my best feature. I like fly fishing and I try to go as often as I can. I spend a lot of my spare time having IPAs at The Beer Research Institute in Mesa, AZ where I live. I moved here about 4 years ago from Mississippi. The bible belt is no place for a liberal atheist.
